Saving My Dry Hair - One Strand At A Time

Every February for Presidents Day weekend, I travel to my favorite city - Las Vegas - for my birthday celebration. I used to live there for four years, so I know how dry it can get. And every time I go back it is complete hell for my hair. Nothing ever seems to work and by the second day my hair is SO FRIZZY and limp - I always end up looking like a hot mess.

But this time I was determined to get a solid regimen in place, something to protect my newly colored hair and to keep it properly moisturized. And this time I think I got it right! Because after I used the products below, my hair stayed perfectly moisturized and bouncy all weekend long!

So here is what I used:  (in this order)

1) Aveda Brilliant Shampoo

2) Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Conditioner

3) NEW Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil (from ends to roots)

4) Aveda Smooth Infusion Style-Prep Smoother (for heat protection)

I cannot rave enough about the new Aveda oil (3). It is so amazing!!! I've seen typical hair oils moisturize before, but not necessarily control frizz and give it continuous shine all day. And how many of them give an oily scalp 24 hours later? Not this oil. I can go a couple days without washing my hair and reapply this oil daily with no build up from it. My hair just soaks it in! Bonus: I only need four drops for my medium to long hair and that's it! So I know this bottle is going to last a long time. It's really good stuff and I'm so happy my hair stylist recommended it to me!

**Sidenote about my hair type: my mother is Mexican and father is German, so my hair is coarse, frizzy and wavy.  Dark brown with the occasional red strand. Its always on the drier side.
